Mission-Critical Infrastructure Executive · Melbourne

I build mission-critical infrastructure. I understand the businesses that depend on it.

Over 20 years, I have delivered more than $100 million in complex construction, refurbishment, and critical infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, defence, and secure environments. I have scaled a business from the ground up to $10 million in revenue without increasing headcount, built server rooms and communications infrastructure under the most exacting compliance standards, and operated in environments where failure is not an option.

The next wave of opportunity in critical infrastructure is not only in new builds. Assets constructed to last 25 years are already meeting technology cycles that move in three to five. The result is an accelerating demand for refurbishment, repurposing, and lifecycle optimisation of mission-critical environments. This is where I have spent my career: delivering complex upgrades within live, high-risk, compliance-driven facilities without disrupting the operations they support.

What sets me apart is not the technical record alone. As a 10-year member of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation, an active investor, and participant in founders networks who have navigated acquisitions, exits, and hyperscale growth, I bring a perspective that most construction leaders do not have: a deep understanding of the commercial drivers behind the infrastructure I build.

Value proposition

Three pillars of value

01

Critical Systems and Technical Delivery

Hands-on design and construction leadership across MEP systems, server rooms, communications infrastructure, and secure environments. I have delivered projects in live, zero-downtime conditions with full D&C risk ownership, including defence-grade security, fire suppression, and 24-hour critical services operations.

02

Operational Scaling and Business Management

I built a construction business from inception to $10 million in revenue through system-driven execution, ISO-accredited governance, and a commitment to developing people. I have implemented structured L&D frameworks, top-grading recruitment, and performance management systems that enabled the business to scale without scaling headcount.

03

Entrepreneurial Network and Commercial Insight

A decade within the Entrepreneurs' Organisation, combined with a private investment portfolio spanning commercial property and early-stage businesses, has given me direct exposure to M&A, capital raises, and digital transformation from the demand side. I understand why enterprises consume critical infrastructure, not only how to build it.

Selected projects

Work that speaks for itself

A selection of projects that represent the depth and range of what I deliver. Each involved complex coordination, live operational constraints, and a commitment to outcomes over process.

Defence / Secure Infrastructure

Hanwha Defence Australia HQ

Delivered a high-security office and communications environment to Level 4 classification. The scope included a specialised comms room with fire suppression and controlled mechanical systems, executed under strict compliance and security protocols.

Critical Systems / 24-Hour Operations

Headspace Melbourne Headquarters

Multi-phase delivery of the national headquarters, including a self-managed comms room and a 24-hour emergency services call centre with critical MEP systems operating around the clock. Works required city-centre traffic management and phased programme delivery.

Education / Change of Use

International Registered Training Organisation, $5M

4,500 sqm facility upgrade with major mechanical system redesign to support increased headcount capacity. Replanned from a single phase to a four-stage programme to maintain live operations, managing compliance, staged permits, and change-of-use requirements throughout.

Industrial / Multi-Use Conversion

Multi Tenancy Homemaker Centre

5,000+ sqm industrial asset redevelopment encompassing structural demolition (including fire damage recovery during live works), facade redevelopment with extensions, civil works, 8-metre sandwich panel walls, services upgrades, commercial kitchens, and multi-tenancy conversion across retail, food, and childcare.

Industrial / Brownfield Remediation

Visy Portfolio

Brownfield building remediation (including asbestos), overlaid with full MEP, HVAC, and compliance measures. Delivered building, facade, and amenities upgrades with server room reconversion, civil works, and roofing across multiple industrial refurbishments of critical systems.

Government / Commercial Refurbishment

Geelong Commercial Building, $3M to $4M

Total building refurbishment for a property with a government tenant and underutilised ground floor. Constructed internal structure to create a new mezzanine level across a double-height space, delivering a complete repositioning of the asset across multiple floors.

Consular / International Security

Consular Office Work

Delivered secure office environments to international physical and IT security standards for multiple foreign consulates, operating within the specific compliance frameworks required by each diplomatic mission.

Tech Sector / Hyperscale Growth

Readify, Whispir, Nintex, Invetech

Delivered head offices and technology environments for founder-led software businesses during rapid scaling phases. Worked closely with founders on workplace strategy as they grew from small teams to large operations, including Readify prior to its acquisition by Telstra (now Telstra Purple).

Experience

2011 to Present

Agero Group

Director / Operations Lead

Founded and scaled a commercial construction and refurbishment business to $10 million in revenue through system-driven execution and disciplined operational management. Delivered complex projects across commercial, industrial, education, defence, and secure environments with full design and construction risk ownership.

Transitioned the business from reactive delivery to ISO-accredited, governance-led operations. Built structured L&D frameworks with defined career pathways, introduced top-grading recruitment, and established performance management rhythms that drove accountability and retention. Maintained flat overhead costs while scaling revenue through enhanced procurement strategies and value engineering.

Assumed full operational control of multiple concurrent projects following the sudden loss of a key team member, maintaining delivery remotely across time zones and stabilising an at-risk project portfolio through rapid restructuring and direct client engagement.

Currently leading the deployment of a fully integrated ERP system built using Claude Code and AI-assisted development, consolidating project management, commercial planning, and operational reporting into a single platform designed and directed in-house.

2005 to 2011

Project Director > Senior Project Management

Commercial Construction

Delivered multi-million-dollar commercial fit-out and building refurbishment projects, including the STA Travel Victorian headquarters and the Heinz Melbourne headquarters. Led pre-construction design, managed the build of integrated comms rooms and IT infrastructure, and coordinated complex MEP installations within occupied buildings.

1999 to 2005

Architectural Roles

Local and International Architectural Practices

Worked across local and international architectural practices in Australia, Spain, and Germany, spanning domestic, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects. Developed a particular depth in refurbishment, retention, and repurposing of heritage-listed buildings; a foundation that continues to inform the design-led approach behind every construction project I lead today.

Community and contribution

Beyond the business

I believe that leadership carries a responsibility beyond commercial outcomes. The work I do in the community is grounded in a long-held conviction that investing in people, particularly young people, is the most meaningful contribution I can make.

Youth Development Advisory

Three years of advisory support for a youth development organisation, focused on property strategy and sustaining youth centre operations. This is an extension of a commitment that began in 2017, when I directed resources from our business's sustainable strip-out initiative toward youth community programmes.

Mentoring

Youth mentoring at secondary school level through Salesian College, and career mentoring for university students at RMIT. Both programmes reflect a personal investment in helping the next generation find their direction and build confidence.

Community Leadership

Active leadership within the Bayside business community, supporting entrepreneurs from early-stage through to experienced operators. This programme has contributed to community development initiatives in Australia and youth and community programmes in India.

High-Performance Programme

Developing a programme that applies high-performance principles to help people build self-belief and personal motivation. The approach draws on sport, personal development, and the discipline of pursuing a standard, designed for people who may not identify as entrepreneurs but who are driven to improve.

What drives me beyond work

Family is at the centre of everything. I am a father of two and deeply invested in my children, my partner, and the wider family who have made this journey possible. I am grateful for their continuing support through the challenges and demands of building and leading a business in Melbourne over the past several years.

Beyond family, I am drawn to the things that demand both discipline and appreciation: architectural design and heritage, music, and sport. I train and have competed in Olympic weightlifting at amateur level, not to claim any great standing, but to show my children that every dream is possible with the application of vision, continual focus, and sacrifice.

Extreme context, delivered through absolute simplicity.
